You are right...it's a good tool to learn composition.

Re: D003 – Cohorts Across Generations

I am not too impressed with my iTouch camera but I bet it should help Jr perfect his composition. It nice to hear from you too. It has been a long time and things are going okay. I'm even considering starting the 365 again. If I do, I will probably start November 12 (12-11-10 or 11-12-10) depending on where you put the month. That will make the finish (11-11-11). My son and I might start the same time, so stay tuned.

Re: This Jailbird Has Flown

Good to see your blog post after a long (long) time. "I enjoy irony. I dig symbolism. I think in metaphors," is poetic and powerful. I'm finding the same thing. It just takes too much time that is left to think about the 365. Oh, and as far as posting larger images, I never post large images. I always post 72 ppi. You just don't need more if all you're doing is displaying. Anyway, good plan. And think about posting a smaller 72 ppi version for the blog.

Re: Day 246 – Where Your Treasures Are

I think it is a great plan to combine those things together.
And if you post a picture from last week, that you edited today, you actually created this picture today, so it fits the concept :-)

The 365 project is more then taking a picture, it's learning new things. :-)
(I should better say this to myself so I can get back on the rails)

Re: Day 245 – Grass Roots

I like the lens. I wish it was a Nikon, but that's out of my price range right now. So it really just a matter of price vs. performance. I have a little problem with auto focus working with it, but the same problem also happens with my Sigma. It doesn't happen with either of my Nikon lenses. I haven't played with the Nikon equivalent per say...so it's hard to compare. But as I said...the price is right.

Re: Day 245 – Grass Roots

Nice portrait. Would you recommend this lens? I think it's kinda fun. Most people didn't even look twice. The ones who did acted as though they thought I was there professionally. There are a few places I won't go with it though. Target in particular. The clerks look at you like you're trying to steel their ideas.

Re: Day 244 – Pick a Peck

Nice photo for being out of your comfort zone.
I also struggle with it.

Re: Day 241 – The Wild Things

I love it! The only way to get rid of it is to go to the roots rather than pulling it out. When pull it out, it sprouts suckers and gives out new plants....

As Alisa commented, I like the contrast on this too.

Re: Day 239 – It Grows Like a Weed

Great photo. Love the contrast of the water spigot and the "weeds". I know what you mean - I had spearmint growing in a flowerbed once. It was planted by the former owner of the house. It really will take control if you let it, but it does smell wonderul!
